THIS PHASE LASTS 1-2 WEEKS:
- Meet the team and your co-authors in our Slack community- start networking and get your questions answered.
- Get an overview of the 5 program phases, expected timeline, and deadlines so you can plan ahead.
- We'll guide you & provide templates to help you define your author brand (your message & what makes you unique), your chapter topic, subtopics, and additional resources to create your chapter outline.
- Start promoting your book writing journey with your audience now!
PHASE TWO
HOT MESS DRAFT > FIRST DRAFT
UNLEASH YOUR INNER AUTHOR!
WRITE YOUR HOT MESS DRAFT, THEN COLLABORATIVELY WE WORK WITH YOU TO GET IT TO A FIRST DRAFT.
THIS PHASE LASTS 6 WEEKS:
- Get all your ideas out until you have a finished "hot mess" rough draft.
- We'll collaboratively review your rough draft for clarity, conciseness, structure, tone and voice - add to, delete or edit the content until it feels just right for you.
- By the end of this phase, you'll have a refined first draft ready for the next phase: editing and proofreading.
PHASE Three
PROFESSIONAL EDITING
HAVE PEACE OF MIND KNOWING YOUR CONTENT WILL BE REVIEWED BY WRITING EXPERTS AND PASS THE TEST TO BE PUBLISHED INTO THE WORLD.
EDITING LASTS 4 WEEKS, AND INCLUDES:
- Developmental Editing - this is a high-level structural edit and critique providing feedback on how to improve and strengthen your chapter content.
- Copyediting - following The Chicago Manual of Style as a guide, this is more of a sentence-level edit that cleans up punctuation, grammar, spelling, and sentence flow so your content reads smooth and simple.
- Proofreading - this is the final edit, it's performed with meticulous and detailed attention that catches any leftover mistakes from the previous edits.
PHASE Four
ENDORSEMENT CAMPAIGN + BOOK PRODUCTION & PUBLISHING
THIS MILESTONE IS MOSTLY ON US, BUT We’d love for OUR co-authors to help promote the manuscript for an endorsement campaign.
THIS PHASE LASTS 2 – 3 WEEKS, AND INCLUDES:
- Our team will seek endorsements of the book from experts & thought leaders in the field of functional medicine (ideally). Your participation is optional but recommended as it can be very effective!
- The new professionally designed book cover is finalized and formatted for eBook and paperback.
- The manuscript is formatted for eBook and paperback.
- "Healthcare Reimagined" will be published on Amazon (and other major online book retailers such as Barnes & Noble.)
Phase FIVE
BOOK LAUNCH & AUTHOR MARKETING GUIDANCE
AND NOW THE FUN BEGINS…
WE WILL COLLECTIVELY PROMOTE THE BOOK TO OUR NETWORKS!
BOOK LAUNCH LASTS 1 WEEK AND WILL INCLUDE:
- Announce the book to your audience with our book-branded graphics for social media, email, video, blog post, and website promotion.
- We’ll also provide you with a marketing plan to help you promote the book on the platforms you are most engaged on.
- You'll also receive our "Get Visible" eBook that shares how to market yourself as a published author to get in front of larger audiences to expand your thought leadership, as well as attract leads and clients for your business!
- We'll be launching an advertising campaign on Facebook & Instagram to get the book in front of a highly targeted audience.
